Diagnosis

1. Systematic, professional and complex diagnosis of the vehicle using corresponding diagnostic tools, methods and facilities;
2. Arranged by the service advisor, communicate with the customer to obtain additional information complaints;
3. If required, carry out trouble diagnosis under dynamic test condition on the stand and/or road;
4. Determine the cause of the fault and rectify it;
5. Compare the actual condition of a vehicle with the current production configuration and access its technical condition;
6. Document the diagnosis procedure in a suitable diagnosis database;
7. In case of complex technical problems and repeat cases, contact second level support;
8. Support the system technician in diagnosis and repair on demand.

Final check and Vehicle Hand-Over (in special cases)

1. Assist the service advisor to perform a final check of the repair vehicles regarding the scope of the repair, road-worthiness and operational reliability, using testing and measuring equipment;
2. Assist the service advisor, personally handing over the repaired vehicles and, if required, explaining the results of the diagnosis as well as the work that has been performed if necessary to conduct a final test run;
3. If necessary, giving the customer additional instructions on handling.

Other Specialist Tasks

1. Give colleagues in the workshop technical advice and information regarding product-specific problems;
2. Establish and foster contact with person in central service suits in order to clarify problems and solve difficult technical problems;
3. Pass on regularly data on results of diagnosis (diagnosis database) to second level support;
4. Learn by own initiative about new vehicle systems, in term of structure as well as functions, and pass this knowledge to colleagues in the workshop or, if and when required, to customers;
5. Compile technical product reports on vehicle defects, descriptions of causes and suitable optimization measures;
6. Arrange for and monitor orders for special tools required for diagnosis purposes, agreed by the workshop management;
7. Contract the diagnosis second level support for warranty & goodwill overtime release.
